Hirameki Privacy Policy

Hirameki (“the app”) is an iPhone note app developed and distributed by 半歩舎 (Hanposha). It saves and organizes the ideas you tell Siri or your buddy (a cat, dog or owl). The ideas and personal information you save are never sent to the developer, and no advertising or analytics services are used. There is no developer server.

Information the app handles

• Ideas: the text, the words you first gave, when you saved and edited it, its category, whether it is pinned, when it was deleted (trash), and the title and summary written by on-device AI.
• Shopping list: item names and whether each is bought. The words you first said (including item names) are also kept as “your first words”, as for ideas.
• Settings and similar: the buddy you chose, the buddy you chose first, whether you have Hirameki Plus and until when, and the iCloud sync state (an identifier of the account synced with, and sync progress).
• Deletion record: for ideas you “Delete Forever”, only an identifying number and the time of deletion are kept, so that an old copy on another device cannot bring them back (the text is not kept).
• Voice: what you say with “Talk to My Buddy” is turned into text by on-device speech recognition. No recordings are saved.

Where data is stored and synced

The information above is stored on your iPhone. With Hirameki Plus and iCloud available, ideas and the shopping list are stored in your own private iCloud storage and synced between devices signed in to the same Apple Account. iCloud data is managed by Apple and cannot be seen by the developer. Settings and purchase state are not synced.

Microphone, speech recognition and Siri

• The microphone and speech recognition are used only to turn what you say with “Talk to My Buddy” into text. The app uses on-device speech recognition only; on devices where that is not available it does not switch to an online service and offers typing instead.
• What you say to Siri with “Save an Idea”, and keyboard dictation, are turned into text by Apple’s Siri and dictation and follow their settings and Apple’s privacy policy.

Calendar

The event screen opened by “Add to Calendar” is provided by Apple and runs outside the app. You save the event there; the app does not read your calendar. Only if you turn on automatic adding in settings, the app asks for add-only calendar access and adds the title and time of new ideas as events (the idea’s text isn’t put in the event notes). This access cannot read your calendar. Events are saved to your default calendar and synced or shared according to that calendar’s settings. They are not sent to the developer.

Widgets

For the widget, the app keeps a small file (the buddy, whether Plus is on, and a list of titles) in a shared place on your device. Titles are included only when you turn that on in settings. The file is never sent off your device.

On-device AI

On devices that support Apple Intelligence, Apple’s on-device model (Foundation Models) writes a title, category and summary for your ideas. This runs on the device; the app sends nothing out for it.

Network

The only services the app contacts automatically are the following Apple services.

• iCloud (CloudKit) and Apple’s push notification service: syncing between your devices while you have Hirameki Plus (a silent notification tells a device that something changed).
• App Store (StoreKit): buying Hirameki Plus, restoring purchases and checking purchase status. Payment information is never received by the app.

These are processed under Apple’s privacy policy. No sign-up is required. Only when you tap a link does the app open the Terms of Use, this page, or Apple’s Shortcuts app.

Information the app does not collect

• Usage analytics
• Advertising identifiers or tracking
• Location, contacts or photos
• Crash reports (Apple may provide the developer with anonymous statistics only if you have opted in to sharing with Apple)

Deleting your data

• A deleted idea moves to “Recently Deleted”, where you can restore it. “Delete Forever” removes its text and other content from the device, and the deletion reaches iCloud and your other synced devices the next time they sync (without Hirameki Plus, when you start using it again and sync). If the idea was edited on another device after you deleted it, the edited version stays. The deletion record above is kept.
• “Clear Bought Items” on the shopping list removes items from the list, but the words you first said stay. To remove everything, delete the shopping list itself and then “Delete Forever”.
• Deleting the app removes the data on the device. Data remaining in iCloud can be deleted from Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Storage (or Manage Account Storage) → Hirameki. Deleting the iCloud data does not delete the ideas still on your devices.
• TXT and JSON files you exported are outside the app; delete them where you saved them.
• Your App Store purchase history is managed by Apple.
